The American Academy of Ophthalmology has launched Ophthalmology Retina, a new scientific journal focused exclusively on retina-related eye diseases and conditions. Ophthalmology Retina published by Elsevier, is an extension of Ophthalmology, the Academy’s flagship journal. According to the publisher, Ophthalmology Retina, which publishes original research of interest to retina specialists worldwide, benefits from sharing experienced staff and an overlapping editorial board with Ophthalmology, allows for an expedient review and publication process.
“A devoted retina journal provides subspecialists with cutting-edge research and just-in-time insights to better serve patients,” said Andrew P. Schachat, M.D., editor-in-chief of Ophthalmology Retina. “In an environment that is constantly changing, it’s important that we equip our colleagues with everything they need to choose appropriate emerging treatments. Ophthalmology Retina will be a valuable resource for retina specialists around the world.”
