Topcon Hood Report

Topcon incorporates Dr. Donald Hood’s work on ‘improving the use of OCT imaging for detecting glaucomatous damage’ into their latest advancement: the ‘Hood Report’.

Exclusive to Topcon’s swept-source OCT Triton, the Hood Report is generated from a single 3D Wide scan and helps improve a clinician’s ability to detect early glaucomatous damage by displaying glaucoma-relevant data on one page.

The Hood Report displays the retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) thickness in nasal-superior-temporal-inferior-nasal (NSTIN) orientation so that the most vulnerable to nerve damage, the temporal region, is in the centre, thus keeping RNFL bundles together.

The 3D-Wide scan also presents thickness maps of the RNFL and ganglion cell complex layers, as well as RNFL and GCL+ probability maps with visual field test locations overlaid. This means damage can be confirmed by topographically comparing OCT and visual field probability maps.
