Biotrue OneDay Lenses: Long Lasting Moisture

The major contributor to contact lens drop-off is high computer usage and dry eye.1 The fact that we may blink 66 per cent less when using digital devices, could contribute to eye dehydration.2

Biotrue OneDay contact lenses maintain moisture for up to 16 hours.3 These CLs maintain more than 98 per cent of their moisture throughout the day and match the cornea’s water content of 78 per cent.4 With crisp, clear vision, designed to reduce spherical aberration, halos and glare are reduced.5

Biotrue OneDay features UVA/UVB Protection.* An online survey found that 76 per cent of 9,330 patients who tried Biotrue OneDay preferred these contact lenses over their previous brand.6

*WARNING: UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear, such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses, because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. The effectiveness of wearing UV-absorbing contact lenses in preventing or reducing the incidence of ocular disorders associated with exposure to UV light has not been established at this time. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed. NOTE: Long-term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders.

2. Double masked, contralateral eye study to evaluate water loss of Biotrue ONEday, 1-Day Acuvue Moist, 1-Day Acuvue TruEye contact lenses. After four, eight, 12, and 16 hours of wear, lenses were removed and immediately weighed (wet weight). The lenses were then completely dried and reweighed (dry wet). The percent water loss was then calculated for each lens from the wet and dry weights.

Results from a 21 investigator, multi-site study of Biotrue® ONEday lenses, with a total of 414 eligible subjects (210 daily disposable lens wearers with 84 Focus Dailies Aqua Comfort and 33 1-Day Acuvue Moist wearers, and 204 planned replacement lens wearers). After seven days of wear, subjects completed an online survey. Consumers rated Biotrue OneDay lens performance across a range of attributes and compared the performance to their habitual lenses.
