Oscar Wylee is recruiting Joint Venture (JV) partners for its existing stores across Australia and for greenfield sites. The rapidly growing optometry business, which started as an online eyewear retailer in 2012, now has 50 stores equipped with Topcon medical equipment and state of the art information technology systems.
Donna Sharpe, general manager of partnerships at Oscar Wylee said the decision to introduce the JV model came about as a result of established team members who expressed interest in ownership.
“They love the culture that we’ve created, our commitment to providing affordable eyewear and our evolving focus on clinical care. What better way to harness that passion for the business than to make them our JV partners,” said Ms Sharpe.
Beyond existing staff members, Oscar Wylee aims to attract new optometrists and optical dispensers to JV opportunities. They promise strong IT, mentoring, clinical learning, marketing and business support, as well as finance for up to 80 per cent of the store investment.
“JV partners will directly invest in their own store,” said Jessica Xu, HR Generalist at Oscar Wylee. In return we’ll work hand in hand with them to grow their business and the brand.”
