Increasing numbers of people are seeking advice, management and treatment for dry eyes. The Dry Eye Institute was established to service this often overlooked but debilitating condition that affects up to 75% of some populations.1 The Dry Eye Institute provides patients with a comprehensive assessment of their tear film, including measuring their osmolarity, lipiview, meibography and blink rate analysis, MMP-9 testing and schirmers.
The Institute then personalises treatment regimens to target aqueous deficient dry eyes (ADDE), meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) or a combination. This may include Lipiflow, IPL, Blephasteam, permanent or temporary punctal plugs or medications. The Dry Eye Institute also offers plasma rich growth factor (PRGF) Endoret eye drops to suitable patients.
