Plans in Place for 2021 Optics Fair in China

The China Wenzhou International Optics Fair (WOF) will go ahead this year from 8–10 October at the China Wenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Planned to enable suppliers to showcase their products, and visitors to discover all that’s new in a safe environment, this key buying and networking opportunity will feature 580 exhibitors spread over a 31,800sqm exhibition area.

Approximately 20,000 people are expected to visit WOF2021 to see the latest in eyewear and equipment, and to attend conference sessions.

Fashion eyewear from around the world will be showcased in the WOF Designer Corner throughout the event, while a series of conferences related to optical manufacturing, channel, business model, brand operation and new retail will be presented during the first day of the show.

A newly established E-Commerce Pavilion will allow optical manufacturers to reach more business opportunities, something the organisers anticipate will offer great added-value during the pandemic.

“Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, international travel and trade has been heavily impacted between China and overseas,” Ms Ellen Chu, Director of WOF noted. “Compared to traditional export, E-Commerce (enables a) quick response to market trends and consumer demands. With a larger market and lower costs, it can help our exhibitors’ business.”

Additionally, WOF organisers have built a new optical online business-to-business platform named NoteOptics.com upon which brands can list their optical products, promote brand releases and announce trade news. With over 120,000 optical products already listed, this platform has become home to more than 4,000 high-quality optical suppliers from China and Asia.
