The 2021 edition of Silmo in Paris will go ahead this September with more than 500 confirmed exhibitors representing every aspect of the industry. Health passes, in line with France’s regulations, will be required for entry.
“Finally, the entire industry will be able to gather together again”, Amélie Morel, President of SILMO Paris said, in an update with Eric Lenoir, Director of the Fair.
With 53% of registered visitors coming from outside France, Mr Lenoir said, “Figures so far suggest distribution of France-international participation similar to that of 2019 and lead us to believe we’re on track for a global fair”.
As in previous years, Silmo Paris in 2021 will showcase trends and innovations along-side conferences and workshops that ‘decode’ the sector and help it to collectively ensure its technologically sustainable future. The 2021 winners of the much anticipated SILMO d’OR will be announced and a SILMO Academy award of a €10,000 will be granted for a research project in the field of optics and vision science.
Ms Morel and Mr Lenoir have assured prospective visitors that this will be “a convivial and festive event where safety is ensured and constraints are fewer, thanks to the health pass for visitors and exhibitors throughout the Fair, in compliance with the regulations in force in France”. The health pass requires demonstration of a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
