Hoya Surgical Optics has partnered with the renowned European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology (ESASO) and will use the school’s professional networking platform, ‘eLos’, to host educational activities for eye care professionals in Australia and New Zealand.
There are currently more than 11,000 registered users of eLos around the world who access the platform to participate in highly interactive educational modules. Content is shared through interest groups which include cataract, retina, cornea and glaucoma. Education topics cascade down through these specialties and users have the ability to engage in topics, as well as to post and share their educational content and surgical videos.
There is no charge to access the platform and all eye care professionals are invited to join
Hoya Surgical Optics’ educational content will be accessible via a main group the company has created on eLos called ‘Masters’.
“The idea behind the name ‘Masters’ is that the road to mastery doesn’t come without continuous learning, sharing, and support from other ophthalmologists,” explained Scott Cockrum, Country Development Director, Australia and New Zealand for Hoya Surgical.
“Our Masters group offers high-quality educational content, courses, trainings, and events to meet ophthalmic surgeons’ evolving needs. It’s a place where ophthalmologists/specialists can exchange their points of view and learn from other masters,” he added.
Registration is simple by scanning the QR code in mivision advertisements or by following esaso.formstack.com/forms/master_group_hoya.

The internationally respected European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology has a European campus in Lugano, Switzerland and an Asian campus in Singapore. Educational activities on eLos can be highly interactive, allowing discussion in real time, as well as on demand through desktop and mobile devices.
