EssilorLuxottica have paid tribute to Leonardo Del Vecchio, Chairman, after his passing this week. The Board of Directors remembered Mr Del Vecchio for his values, robust leadership, passion, exceptional character, and dedication toward the company and its employees.
Francesco Milleri, Chief Executive Officer of EssilorLuxottica, has been appointed EssilorLuxottica’s new Chairman. Mr Milleri will assume both roles for the remaining duration of his mandate. The Board has also appointed Paul du Saillant as deputy Chief Executive.

During the same meeting, the Board co-opted Mario Notari as a new Director. Mr Notari will be considered as a non-independent Director on the Board of EssilorLuxottica. His appointment will be submitted to shareholders’ vote at the next Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting.
Further to this, EssilorLuxottica has decided to examine the benefits of appointing a lead director among its independent members, with a final decision to be made before the end of the year.
