Imaging the retina is important in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) for several purposes including documentation, follow-up, teleconsultation, teaching, and patient education.
While a high resolution and widefield of view are a prerequisite to getting all the information, true colours are an important component for accurate interpretation, diagnosis, and viewing the true nature of the disease.
The fast rate of image acquisition and non-contact nature of the ZEISS Clarus 700 imaging system are well suited to neonatal patients. The ZEISS Clarus 700 uses true colour reflectance imaging with high resolution and a non-contact approach, as well as multiple acquisition modes including colour with separation channels, infrared (IR), fundus autofluorescence (FAF), and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA).
