Gelflex continues to grow its international footprint while maintaining its commitment to Australian optometry education and community support.
Gelflex products can now be found in optical practices across Jakarta, Mumbai, Manila, Dubai, Rome, Milan, and numerous other cities worldwide.
The company, which employs 250 staff members across multiple international locations, has successfully exported Australian-made contact lenses to more than 35 countries, demonstrating the strength and quality of local manufacturing in the global marketplace.
With offices established in four countries and a multilingual workforce speaking a combined 12 different languages, Gelflex has positioned itself to develop close relationships with customers while embracing cultural diversity. This approach reflects the company’s Australian heritage and the multicultural values of the country it represents.
“Through all our international growth, Gelflex continues to contribute to local communities in many meaningful ways,” David Masel, Managing Director of Gelflex, stated. “Whether that’s supporting those less privileged with free lenses or through supporting the next generation of Australian optometrists in contact lens fitting.”
Specialty Lens Portfolio Expansion
In the Australian market, Gelflex continues to strengthen its specialty lens business through innovative product development, advanced technology integration, and an expanding technical support team dedicated to providing optometrists with unrivalled professional support.

The company has secured exclusive manufacturing rights for WAVE and Zen lenses in Australia, alongside its role as the exclusive distributor of the Paragon CRT system and the Euclid Emerald lens. These key products are complemented by a comprehensive portfolio of specialty lenses spanning advanced keratoconus designs, the trusted Gelflex orthokeratology system, standard rigid gas permeable lenses, and multiple scleral lens options.
Gelflex also manufactures custom soft lenses with quarterly replacement options available in both sphere and toric designs and serves as the distributor of NaturalVue soft multifocal lenses for myopia control – addressing one of the most pressing concerns in contemporary optometric practice.
Values-Driven Approach
According to David Masel, it is the underlying values that drive both the business and its people that have shaped Gelflex into the organisation it is today.
“Gelflex is here to support your business as we continue to proudly fly the Australian flag around the world,” he said, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local optometric practices whilst maintaining its international growth trajectory.
The company’s approach demonstrates how Australian manufacturers can successfully compete on the global stage while maintaining strong ties to their domestic market and supporting local professional development.
