Talking Eyes: The Hard Lens Edge

The second episode of Talking Eyes Season 2 is available to download now, and if you’re looking to strengthen your complex fitting toolkit, this episode delivers practical takeaways you can apply in-clinic straight away.

In The Hard lens edge: Stories and strategies for complex fits, Associate Professor Richard Vojlay joins optometrist Lien Trinh for a practical, clinician-focused conversation on what really makes hard lens fitting work when the cornea isn’t ‘textbook’.

A highly respected optometrist and educator with deep expertise in specialty contact lenses and complex corneal care, Assoc Prof Vojlay is known for translating challenging cases into clear, workable strategies that lift everyday clinical confidence.

This discussion covers fitting for irregular corneal shapes, unpacking the mindset, clinical reasoning and step-by-step approaches that help turn tricky fits into stable, comfortable vision. Expect real-world pearls on lens selection, interpreting topography and over-refraction clues, troubleshooting common failure points, and setting expectations so patients stay engaged through the refinement process.
