Rayner has expanded its flagship spiral intraocular lens (IOL) platform with the introduction of RayOne Galaxy Hydrophobic – combining the world’s first spiral optic with Rayner’s established hydrophobic acrylic material.
Since its 2024 debut, more than 200,000 Galaxy implantations have taken place across 75 countries. The full-range-of-vision IOL, which was designed with a proprietary AI engine tuned for optimal patient outcomes, has built a strong clinical record for delivering continuous vision from near to distance, without the light loss and halo/glare trade-offs associated with diffractive trifocal lenses.

RayOne Galaxy Hydrophobic features Rayner’s longstanding Amon-Apple 360° Enhanced Square Edge as well as a new precision laser-cutting manufacturing process to minimise posterior capsule opacification (PCO). Pre-launch evaluations using the Real Artificial Lens Vision (RALV) simulator system demonstrate the same minimal halo profile and full range of vision established by the hydrophilic Galaxy lens.*
